Pedersen. 2008-05-01: We added the Norwegian translation of Eliminating Mutation: The Impossible Dream, and the Portuguese translation of Feline vaccination. 2008-04-28: Today we received the Danish translation of OMERTA: The Breeders' Code of Silence. 2008-04-26: Norwegian translations of the Introduction page of the Heritage site, and of the Test Breeding new Maine Coon Foundation Lines? article were added today. 2008-04-14: We have now made an update of NetPedigree 2. The major changes are a new search algorithm and more settings in User Preferences. For example, you can set the preferred search method and which, if any, health info to be shown directly in the pedigree. Eventually we plan to have the same course in different languages, but the first course will be held in Swedish. Read more about it in English or in Swedish. 2007-09-23: Test results from the DNA test for one HCM mutation, found by Dr. Kathryn Muers and her team in Maine Coons, is now being shown in the Maine Coon database. And for a loooong time it has been "almost ready" to be published. It is named Genetics And Breeding Strategies: Essays For The Dog Breeder, and was written by Dr. Susan Thorpe-Vargas. 2007-04-19: Several Italian translations were added to the website: Natural Protection of Genetic Variation, Maine Coon Cats Maine Origin Authenticated and A Cat Tale. 2007-04-16: The 'Natural Protection of Genetic Variation' article is now also available in Spanish and French. 2007-04-13: We added a new article to the PawAcademy: Purebred Dog Breeds into the Twenty-First Century - Achieving Genetic Health for Our Dogs by J. Jeffrey Bragg. 2007-04-10: And now the 4th vaccination article is also available in Dutch. 2007-04-09: The third vaccination article was translated in Dutch and the PRA healthprogramme was translated into Danish. 2007-04-07: Two Dutch translations were added today: Feline vaccination and A schedule for vaccination of cats, of the vaccin serie. And, we received a French translation of the Birman History article. 2007-04-04: Another three chapters from The Book of The Cat were added: Blue Persians, Orange (= Red) Persians, Tortoiseshell Persians 2007-04-01: The PKD article and the Health Programmes are translated in Norwegian. 2007-03-25: We received a new article today, called Observations of Feline Polydactyly. The article is a literature research, carried out by Sheila Curtis and Lucinda King. 2007-03-23: There is a Dutch translation available now, for the Natural Protection of Genetic Variation article. 2007-03-22: We have two new articles on the Heritage site. They are: A Cat Tale, an article from a magazine from 1921, and an article about Sonya Stanislow from the Tati Tan cattery. The last article is at this moment only available in German, but hopefully soon also in English. 2007-03-21: Four new articles about vaccinations were added to the PawAcademy. 2007-03-09: A new article has been published in the PawAcademy. The article's name is Natural Protection of Genetic Variation, and we strongly recommend all breeders to read it. The author of the article is Per-Erik Sundgren, (Dr. Agric.). 2007-03-05: The article about black Persians and the article about tortoiseshell and white Persians from Francis Simpson's old book The Book of The Cat has been translated to Croatian. 2007-03-05: The Outcross Cattery List on the Maine Coon Heritage Site has been Updated. We have also added a Spanish translation of the article "Breed To Avoid genetic Diseases" and a Danish translation of the article "Health Programmes: What is it all about?". 2007-02-10: The article about smoke Persians from Francis Simpson's old book The Book of The Cat has been translated to Croatian. 2007-02-02: Four chapters were added from Francis Simpson's old book The Book of The Cat: Black Persians, Silver Tabby Persians, Smoke Persians, and Tortoiseshell-And-White Persians. 2007-01-21: Another three chapters were added from Harrison Weir's book Our Cats: White Cats, Various Colours, and The Cat of Shakespeare. 2007-01-20: Two more chapters were added from Harrison Weir's book Our Cats. Now you can read about The Brown Tabby Cat and The Spotted Tabby. A few days ago the English version of the article on Flat Chest Kitten Syndrome was updated with some more information and pictures. The translated versions have not yet been updated though. 2006-12-23: Another Dutch translation was added to the PawAcademy: the Polyps article was translated by Karin Sandbergen. 2006-12-20: Today we received two translations of the Omerta article, one in Dutch and one in Norwegian. 2006-12-10: A Dutch translation was added to the PawAcademy: the article of Dr. John Armstrong, Eliminating Mutation was translated by Kathy Ruyssers. 2006-12-02: A new article was added about a cattery that had to deal with HCM in a very hard way: the story of Francesca Doria and her Ragdoll cats. It is called "HCM, The Silent Killer." 2006-11-22: We added a Dutch translation for the recommendations for the DNA test to the healthprogramme. 2006-11-21: A Spanish translation for the Genetics course was added. 2006-11-16: A database for Siamese & Oriental has been published today. 2006-11-08: A new database was added, this time for a horse breed: Mérens. 2006-10-27: The German version of the Heritage site has been updated. The layout and articles are now the same as in the French and English version. Not all pages are translated yet, but our translators are working hard to get the job done! We also received the Spanish translation of the Eliminating Mutation article. 2006-10-26: We received the first Portuguese translations for the Healthprogramme. 2006-10-18: About a week ago we started publishing the results from the HCM health programme in the British Shorthair database. 2006-10-09: Our team of translators has been quite busy lately: they send us a Danish translation of the PK Deficiency health programme, an Italian and a German translation of the "Health Programmes: what is it all about?" article, and a German translation of the "Mouth- and teethproblems" article. 2006-10-04: The results in the health programmes for Aby and Somali (PRA and PK deficiency) are now showing directly in the PawPeds database. 2006-09-03: A Swedish translation of the article Health Programmes: what is it all about? was added. 2006-09-03: We added a Spanish translation of the Polycystic Kidney Disease article to the PawAcademy. 2006-09-02: Four new chapters were added from Harrison Weir's book Our Cats, published in 1889. 2006-08-30: Another two new databases are now available: American Curl and Berger Picard. 2006-08-30: Two new databases are published: the Singapura database and the Griffon database. 2006-08-24: A new article was added to the PawAcademy. It is called "Health Programmes: what is it all about?", and it explains what a health programme is and how it should be designed in order to reach the best possible effect. 2006-08-02: The article by Dr. Heather E. Lorimer, "Inbreeding And Its Effect On The Immune System", has been translated into French! 2006-07-25: Again a new dog database: Neapolitan Mastiff! 2006-07-16: A new dog database was started today! The breed is Braque du Bourbonnais. 2006-06-29: Three new translations have been added to the PawPeds website: an Italian translation of the Eliminating Mutation article, and an Italian and a French translation of the Building a Catrun article.

The PawPeds project has expanded a lot over the years, and the costs for PawPeds have increased in the same way.
Therefore we decided to place Google ads on the pages of PawPeds, hoping this will cover our expenses. 2006-06-05: Today we received our first Russian translation! The Breeding A Litter article was translated into Russian, and it was also translated in Italian. And the userguide is translated in Portuguese. 2006-05-13: We added the Italian translation of the article about Mouth- and teethproblems. 2006-05-12: The article about Flat Chest Kitten Syndrome is translated in German, and the Test Breeding new Maine Coon Foundation Lines article is translated in Italian. 2006-05-11: Today we added a French translation of the PRA Health programme. 2006-04-30: A few of the Health Programmes pages are translated into Swedish, and we added Italian translations of the articles about polyps, Flat Chest Kitten Syndrome, PKD and bloodgroups. 2006-04-26: Today we added a French translation of the Eliminating Mutation article by Dr. John Armstrong, and an Italian translation of the Siberian Exile article. 2006-04-10: After receiving several requests for this, we made printer friendly versions of the genetics course. We've had a few very busy days at PawPeds: we added a French translation of the Siberian Exile article, and Italian translations of the summary of Dr. Meurs & Dr. Kittleson's seminar and of the recommendations for the DNA test. 2006-03-23: There is now a French translation of the article about Polyps available. 2006-03-22: The recommendations for the DNA test are now also available in French! 2006-03-19: We added German translations of the explanation of the HCM form, and of the recommendations for the DNA test. 2006-03-17: The health programme against HCM now has info on the new DNA test for MyBPC3, and recommendations regarding this test. 2006-03-13: New databases have been started for Bombay and Bichon Frise! Both these databases are being started from scratch, so please send in pedigree info to the database maintainers! 2006-03-13: We have for quite some time been working on adding two health programmes for Abyssinian and Somali to PawPeds. Now finally we are ready to publish those, although there are still many test results left to be entered. The name of the book is Illustriertes Katzenbuch, and it was printed in Berlin 1896. Author is Jean Bungartz, who also made the drawings in the book. The chapter we now publish is about the different breeds and varieties, and these are in many cases very odd ones! The Scottish Fold breeders might be particulary interested in the Chinese longhaired cat with hanging ears, for instance. So far this article is only available in German, which is the original language of the book of course. Hopefully translations will come with time! 2005-06-13: Our first course is now available in the PawAcademy! The subject of the course is Genetics. 2005-06-01: A Persian & Exotic database is now included in the PawPeds site. The database maintainer is Emil Adén, S*Eminel's cattery.
